Sometimes there are cars that shouldn't even exist anymore. Lexus The LC 500 Cabriolet is one such case. And that's why it will soon be history.
The model brings together a naturally aspirated V8 and a heavy Gran Turismo, built with a attention to detail that seems almost anachronistic today.

Emotions: Touched rather than moved
Those lucky enough to drive it aren't just moved – they're touched. Press the start button, goosebumps guaranteed. No turbo, no electric assistance – just 5,0 liters of pure passion.

464 hp and 530 Newton meters of torque meet a ten-speed automatic transmission that acts as smoothly or decisively as the driver demands.
The LC 500 rockets to 100 km/h in 4,7 seconds. Accompanied by a sound that doesn't sound like an effect, but like genuine, honest mechanics.
Lexus V8: A long love story
Lexus and the V8 – that has always been a special connection. Even in the LS 400, the 1UZ-FE engine demonstrated that smooth running and power are not the sole domain of German manufacturers.

Over time, the engine displacement increased: 4,3 liters, then 4,6 liters, then 5,7 liters in the American SUVs. And finally the 5,0-liter V8, which roared in the IS F, RC F, GS F, and LC 500 from 2007 onwards.
No turbos and no tricks, just soul.
Yamaha's fine-tuning: The 2UR-GSE
To ensure the V8 not only roars powerfully but also in a refined manner, Lexus enlisted support for the LC 500 from Yamaha .

The 2UR-GSE was created: aluminum block, 32 valves, forged crankshaft and a sound that makes even dull ears sit up and take notice.
It's an engine like a musical masterpiece: eager to rev, spontaneous, and honest. Today, it's an almost extinct species.
Design: Elegance and drama
The Lexus LC 500 Convertible is a sculpture on wheels. The long hood, the low silhouette, the flowing lines – it looks like it was cast from a single mold.

The huge diabolo grill and the sharp LED lights add dramatic accents without ever seeming embarrassing.
21-inch wheels and a quickly retractable fabric roof complete the picture of a perfect grand tourer.
Interior: Luxury that lingers
The interior perfectly captures the journey back in time. Exquisite materials, impeccable craftsmanship, and a touch of understated elegance.

The touchscreen has a slightly more modern design, but the rest exudes classic luxury. This isn't just a place to sit – it's a place to reside.
Drivers are in a place where technology and craftsmanship form a rare alliance.
In everyday use: Driving experience and practicality
The Lexus LC 500 is not a track tool and doesn't intend to be. It's a gentleman on wheels, capable of effortless cruising – or unleashing its power at the touch of a button.

The adaptive suspension smooths out bumps, the steering is direct and precise without being nervous.
Those who are so inclined will experience the two tons of empty weight as feather-light.
Farewell in style
On my last drive through the city, I realize how special this car is. It's a final farewell from a dying breed.

The Lexus LC 500 Convertible is more than just a car to me. It's a reminder of what driving used to feel like, before everything was reduced to efficiency, emissions figures, and spreadsheets.
Lexus will cease production of the entire LC model range, including the convertible, during 2026. Goodbye…
