Gas in my blood, adrenaline in my veins, and goosebumps all over my body from the sound – and now, suddenly: silence. Financially too.

Denn Classic Ferrari for sale has officially announced plans to launch its first fully electric model, the "Elettrica," in 2026. Price: a mere $535.000—for a battery from the Emilia-Romagna region on four wheels.

If you're lucky, you might get one as a gift someday – because apparently the eco-model from Maranello is as sexy as looking for a parking space in front of the Milan Scala.

“Electric Offensive”

The news hit the stock market not like a roaring V12, but more like a quiet whirring final twitch.

Completely unconventional investors had even hoped for an aggressive electric offensive, but despite Ferrari's gentle acceleration, its stock price is plummeting. By 2030, the brand aims to offer 40% combustion engines, 40% hybrids, and only 20% electric models.

Well then, good luck with that. In short: The myth should continue to smell of gasoline, leather, and a bit of burnt rubber—and not of hybrids, charging apps, and other cumbersome stuff.

Share down

On the stock market, this conservative strategy caused more frowns than an electric Ferrari at a charging station in Berlin-Mitte at night: The share price plummeted by 16% in Europe at one point, and still fell by double digits in New York.

Apparently, emotions in the financial market are just as difficult to control as a Ferrari at full throttle on a wet track. Or an electric Italian car changing its battery.

Fans of the brand, on the other hand, may be secretly relieved: Because let's be honest: a Ferrari without the typical sound, without that smell of high-octane and the incredibly great myth?

Myth sunk

It's like drinking decaffeinated espresso. Eating frozen carpaccio. And not knowing Sophia Loren. Possible? No. Exciting? Never.

Even the current hybrids are questionable and do not convey the same enthusiasm as before.

One thing is already certain: When the first electric Ferraris silently zip through Maranello in 2026, the myth of this still-legendary brand will definitely fade. Who wants to drive an electric Ferrari anyway?
