The French shipping company Ponant is launching an extraordinary journey along the Italian coast, offering for the first time exclusive insights into the workshops and archives of five legendary Italian luxury brands.

Florence, Venice and Capri become the setting for a special event cruise, which takes travelers behind the scenes of Italian fashion and craftsmanship.

In collaboration with Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Brioni, Pomellato and Ginori 1735, Ponant Explorations has developed a route that combines enjoyment and exclusivity.

Private tours through closed archives

The highlight of the trip: Gucci opens its normally inaccessible archive in a 15th-century Renaissance palazzo, as well as the Palazzo Gucci in Florence.

Passengers on board the Le Boréal can also expect a special exhibition on the theme of "The Art of Travel".

In Venice, Bottega Veneta then provides insights into the production of its characteristic Intrecciato leather weave.

The event concludes with a cocktail reception at the Bottega Veneta Residence in the historic Palazzo Soranzo Van Axel.

Master tailors and gemstone experts on board

Brioni, the epitome of Roman tailoring since 1945, is sending a master tailor on a journey to demonstrate the intricacies of traditional craftsmanship.

Stefano Cortecci, Gem Master and Director of Precious Stone Purchasing at Pomellato, personally introduces the art of jewelry making and shares his knowledge of gemstones and their processing.

And the Ginori 1735 porcelain manufactory invites you to a private tour of its Florentine workshop.

On board the ship, a porcelain artist demonstrates traditional painting techniques, while in the ship's observatory, Italian coffee is served in the Ginori style.

Mediterranean delights on Le Boréal

A cruise aboard Le Boréal thus combines cultural highlights with culinary experiences. Mediterranean cuisine and personalized service complement the concept of contemporary, understated luxury.

The cooperation between Ponant and the five traditional Italian companies provides access to places and people that would otherwise remain closed to the public – from private palazzi to the workshops of the noble master craftsmen.
