The demand for natural, plant-based cosmetics has increased significantly in recent years. Issues such as sustainability, environmental protection and animal welfare are no longer only relevant in the area of nutrition.
Many consumers are also paying more attention to fair manufacturing conditions and natural ingredients when purchasing cosmetic products.
But what makes natural cosmetics so special and how can you switch to more natural products?
Natural cosmetics can score points above all because the recipes do not contain mineral oils, silicones or synthetic preservatives.
Instead, you will find purely vegetable oils that care for the skin in a natural way and provide it with nutrients.

Only a small number of carefully tested additives are permitted for the preservation of the products; these are also used in the food industry and are therefore particularly well tolerated.
The active ingredients that can be used in natural cosmetic products are also limited. However, this does not affect the effectiveness, as the approximately 700 approved active ingredients are mostly medicinal plants that have been proven to be effective for many years.
In comparison, around 6.000 different ingredients are used in conventional cosmetics. However, anyone who switches from conventional cosmetics to natural cosmetics must initially prepare for an adjustment period.

Many ingredients in conventional cosmetics make hair smooth and skin soft, but they also coat cells and hair like a coat, meaning they are not properly supplied with nutrients.
However, if you stick with it, you will quickly notice that skin and hair can be soft, supple and cared for with natural ingredients - without the deceptive appearance of artificial active ingredients.
This is exactly why natural cosmetics work so well – they do not aim for short-term effects, but promise long-lasting, effective care without putting unnecessary strain on the skin.
