The night train network in Europe is growing. From December 13, 2021, the Nightjet will also travel from Vienna to Paris three times a week.

Every Monday, Thursday and Saturday there is a direct train from Vienna Central Station via St. Pölten, Linz, Salzburg and Munich to Paris Gare de l'Est.

On Tuesday, Friday and Sunday of each week, the reverse connection is offered from Paris to Vienna.

The direct train to Paris revives the history of the Orient Express, which ran on this route until 2007.

The new night train connection is a cooperation between the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), the French SNCF and Deutsche Bahn.

In addition to the Vienna – Munich – Paris connection, a new Nightjet will be launched from Zurich via Basel and Cologne to Amsterdam with the timetable change.

The two new Nightjet lines connect a total of 15 German cities with the European night train network.

In addition to the traditional single seats in the seated carriage, the night trains also offer couchettes with four-person compartments or travel in a sleeping car.

It is also possible to book your own (private) compartments.
